Stockholm airport transfer

Hello,
Does anyone have any private airport transfer recommendations?
I would like to pre book an airport transfer for our arrival. We arrive at 12:30pm which is 2:30am our home time. I’m afraid our children (and us parents) will be very tired and don’t want to worry about juggling bags on public transport.
We plan to use public transport on our departure:)
Thank you

From which airport? Where is your hotel? Is that a 12.30 or 00.30 arrival? How many children do you have and how old are they?

We arrive at Stockholm Arlanda, kids age 5 and 9 it will be 12:30 STO, which is 02:30 Seattle, WA, USA our home time (after a 3 hour layover in Frankfurt before STO). We are staying at Hasselbacken Hotel so we can take the first couple days easy and go to Skansen.

That is a very easy trip to do by public transportation. Train or coach to Stockholm central station and then the tram to Djurgården. And no need to juggle with the bags, there is plenty of space for them. But if that feels too complicated you can take the train or coach to central Stockholm and then a taxi to your hotel.

You can of course take a taxi all the way from the airport but starting your trip with a coach or train will save you a bit of money. And time as well if you take the train.

That's the best solution in my opinion! Buy a ticket for two persons online in advance (www.arlandaexpress.com) and you have what you need. The children travel for free, and the ticket is not bound a certain departure so you can just take the first train to Stockholm.

Then it's either an easy tram ride or a taxi to the hotel.

Also, Arlanda Express tickets are refundable within 90 days in case you change your mind.

Badger's definitely got you on the right track here (no pun intended).

For many flights coming from the US, the train station will be closer to you and your baggage than the taxi stand — if you want easy, it's hard to beat hopping on the Arlanda Express and relaxing for 20 minutes. If you can keep your eyes open, it also offers some pretty nice views to welcome you to Sweden. 😉

I was close to report the post above as spam, but I thought it might be worth the benefit of the doubt. The URL doesn't work but I found a company with a similar URL and it's not what I would call competitive, at least not on price. The price I got for a trip from Arlanda to central Stockholm was around 35% more than the price of a taxi and almost twice the price of three tickets for the express train.

It's not spam and each city has different competitive prices. I shopped around and they were the least $$for Helsinki. I did end up booking a set price taxi in Amsterdam to airport. The link does work as I've booked three trips with them.

It will certainly be more $$than publuc transport but we have a petson in a wheelchair with luggage so it's most convenient.

Since this thread is about Stockholm, the airport trains to central Stockholm handle wheelchairs without any problem. And comparing to a regular taxi, they cost 35% more. Are they 35% better as well?

They will just book a regular taxi, they don't have any cars themselves.

Hi.. good point Badger.. however not feasible with two large suitcases plus wheelchair to push . We are two travelers with one in wheelchair. Believe me I'd love to do the train and save some cash!!!

From the arrivals hall, the railway station is closer than the taxi rank. So taking the train means a much shorter distance to push the wheelchair and suitcases…

But my main issue is why you would use some strange website and pay a lot more than if you'd just taken a regular taxi. I really can't see the benefit.

I have an airport assistant ylthrough airline to bring me to taxis. Once at the railway station again I am on my own with all the luggage and chair.

When I explored prices through airport transfers as well as local taxis I was quoted higher prices so opted for this airport transfer . I've used them in other cities as well and they use local drivers but often less pricey. Thanks for all your thoughts...I appreciate all the angles to look at.:-)
