My sister, cousin, and I will be meeting in Stockholm mid September, and heading north to Dalarna to visit relatives.
My sister and I arrive one night before our cousin. We hear driving in Stockholm is quite the headache.
Any recs for logistics in renting a car ?
Only from the International Airport?
Are rentals available outside the city so as to not worry about a car in the city the first night?
Best company from whom to rent?

No reason to pick up the car until you're ready to leave the city. I usually rent through Auto Europe, a US consolidator that represents several of the major companies in Europe. But I think they don't show you rental locations on a map, or not in the first step. If you go to Google Maps and search for "car rental near Stockholm," it will show several locations of major agencies. You can choose whichever is closest to your hotel and/or appears to be close to a major road heading out of town. Several are near the main train station and "train station" usually is a location choice when booking online. It's been many years since I drove there myself.
