I would like to attend either an Opera or a classical music event, possibly a ballet (but rather not) in either
Stockholm, Helsinki, or Oslo, maybe Copenhagen during October 8-18.
Which venue is the best? Which city would you recommend?

Both the Royal Swedish Ballet and the Royal Swedish Opera perform at the Opera House. The venue is quite traditional and very centrally located. When I lived in Stockholm, I saw a number of performances here and they were always well done. Keep in mind if you choose an opera, the supertitles will be in Swedish; read the libretto before you go.

Another venue that has concerts is the Royal College of Music (Kungliga Musikhögskolan). Throughout the academic year, there are many student concerts, often free. I enjoyed a number of performances here by some talented young musicians.
