Malmo or Lund?

We are considering going to Sweden after our plane lands in Copenhagen. Since we can’t get into our lodging until late afternoon, it seems like we can store our luggage and enjoy a half-day in either Malmo or Lund. Excited to see the Oresund Bridge - train to Sweden, bus coming back to experience the entry into the sea.

Would appreciate pros/cons of Malmo vs. Lund and opinions on this idea in general. We are two families with teenagers, so we'll mainly want to walk around and enjoy a good meal. We'd probably only go to one site-seeing thing, if that. But recommendations are welcomed! Thank you!

For general walking around and tourist purposes, my vote goes to Lund. It's a smaller, but more interesting town. Although if you want to see the bridge, Malmö can give you some nice views of it.

Not sure how fancy you want the good meal to be, but a local recommendation is a falafel. Not very traditional Swedish, but at the same time very traditional in Lund.

Thank you for the suggestion! For us, a good meal is not fancy and falafels always sound wonderful!

Then you can't go wrong with the falafel! Clemens falafel next to Clemenstorget is usually popular but there are other places as well.

The story of falafels and Lund is basically that Lund is a university town and falafels have for many years been a popular meal among students, either as a cheap lunch when studying or as a late night snack on your way home from a party. So while it's not the best falafel in the world (don't tell the locals I said that!) you can get some very good falafel for a very reasonable price.

Malmö is more genuine, MUCH larger, more spacious and has canals and several swimming opportunities within walking distance, one of them a beach. I vote Malmö.
