Looking for a quiet, comfortable hotel in Stockholm, convenient for tourist sightseeing

We will be spending 3 nights in Stockholm in July before taking the overnight Viking ferry to Helsinki.

We are looking for a hotel in a nice area that doesn’t suffer from street or nightclub noise. We have spent quite a lot of time looking at reviews and find that many mention noise. We are currently considering two places, so would appreciate thoughts from anyone who knows these hotels and also any similar suggestions.

  1. Hotel Villa Dahlia
  2. Hotel Skeppshomen

Many thanks!

Jacqui, I can’t help you with those hotels but just wanted to say that my daughter and I will be there in July as well for 3 nights (July 16 through July 19). We are staying at the Hotel Sven Vintappare. Any chance those dates match up with yours?

Mardee! Wow we will miss you by just one day. Bummer. We will be there from 12th to 15th and sailing to Helsinki that evening.

We did consider your hotel, it looks lovely, but the lack of a lift and mention of very steep stairs put me off. That's the sort of vibe we would want but with a lift/elevator....

I know, the lack of a lift scared me off too at first, but I emailed them and asked them about it, and they told me that they could put us on either the ground floor or the first floor, so I decided to go with it.

It's a bummer that I won't get to see you! Especially that we're so close. One day! The Viking ferry sounds wonderful, though. And I would love to visit Helsinki at some point.

We really liked the Home Hotel Wellington. It was on a quiet street close to Saluhall, a metro stop and short walk to the waterfront. We had no noise in our street-side room. They serve a light dinner for free. We also really liked the Nobis Hotel, even closer to the waterfront. Outstanding breakfast and very nice amenities.

Hi!

I enjoy the Freys Hotel in Stockholm (https://www.freyshotels.com/en/). It is quite literally across from the Arlanda Express from the airport. Also, it is a quick walk to the city metro giving easy access to all the things you'd wish to see and do! Enjoy your stay! I had no issues with noise whilst staying here. Hope you find what you're looking for! Enjoy!

Thanks all for the replies. We ended up booking the Hasselbacken Hotel which was recommended by someone with local knowledge. The location and hotel look perfect for our needs.

Thanks Laura! Someone else recommended it too so we will definitely be going there. Looks like an easy and pleasant walk from our hotel.
