IKEA Museum

Has anybody been to the IKEA museum in Almhult?

We will be staying in nearby Lund in April. We are big IKEA fans; if we don't go to the museum, I'm sure we'll check out a store in Lund, Malmo or Stockholm. I would love to go to the museum, but my wife thinks it looks like just another IKEA store. Any insights?

The museum is located in the first store that was opened, but it's not a regular store anymore. You can find videos from the museum on Youtube for a preview. It just an hour by hourly train from Lund so of course you should visit, the museum is just by the train station.

The older circle-formed part of the Kungens Kurva store in Stockholm is special from an architectural standpoint, so recommended if you want something different from the standard big'n'boxy store.

Sounds interesting.

I was just Googling and I'd like to see this too -

edit: They closed their Stockholm gallery and are now online. Boo!

The blurb for the IKEA museum says it also includes some older pieces that give some historical context. So much IKEA is "inspired" by Scandinavian design that came before.
