Ideas for September Sweden and Netherlands trip

My wife and I are planning a trip to revisit Stockholm and Copenhagen mid-September. We have 16 days of which we'd planned to stay in the two cities 5 days each. That leaves 6 days to see other areas of Sweden and Denmark. We have visited Norway and Finland before so we'd like to stay in Sweden and Denmark. In Stockholm thought we'd do a day trip to Uppsala. Then possibly a 2 night trip to Visby. RS doesn't cover Visby in his book. Whats the word on Visby? Would like ideas on Kalmar, Vaxjo and any other worthwhile places to explore and hike in Sweden. What about the towns of AEro and Aarhus in Denmark? We'd be interested in any other Danish areas as well. Thought we'd travel by train or boat. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm a bit confused, are you planning a trip to Sweden and Denmark, or a trip to Sweden and the Netherlands?

Whichever you choose, there are plenty of places to see in both Denmark and the Netherlands. Regarding Sweden, Visby is a charming town that is worth a few days.

I also really enjoyed Visby. I was there years ago in early September and enjoyed wandering around the town. I also rented a bike and rode out to one of the beaches (Tofta Beach). I took the ferry from Nynäshamn (easy to get to on the local train from Stockholm).

Netherlands in your title is confusing as you don’t mention it in your post.
