Hop on/off Red line Experience? Better/worse than transit pass for getting around?

Trying to get from cruise terminal Starsgarden 160 to Vasa museum. Trying to figure out the best way to do that.

Hop on/off buses are usually the worst possible way to get from A to B. From Stadsgården 160, walk over to Slussen, cross the water and take the ferry over to Djurgården, from there it's a short walk along the water to the Vasa museum.

There’s a hop on hop off boat that stopped right at the Vasa Museum, really the only public conveyance drop off right at the Museum. Or is that what you meant by red line?

You can pick it up at the Photography Museum near the pier. Of course Badger’s suggestion is much cheaper, but more walking. For a short stay maybe a splurge on the boat pass makes sense, in sunshine it’s the way to see the city, which often faces the water.

The 24-hour SL transit pass appears to cost only 17 Euros?? . . . and will cover that ferry . . . a deal. I think that's what I will do. I can get that pass in the airport. It will cover other transportation too if I need it.

The reviews for the Hop/on/hop off were not great in terms of wait times, and time will be precious. We're arriving in the afternoon and want to get over to the Vasa before it stops letting people in at 4p.

Thanks for your help.

I think the hop on/off boat would be faster to Vasa than walking all the way to the ferry, and all the way from the ferry, close to 30 minutes walking plus at least 20 minutes for the ferry, about an hour total but I don’t really know.

Stockholm sightseeing sprawls along the waterfront, it can be frustrating to be a tourist there unless you like a lot of walking. If you are really in a hurry take a taxi, it can drop you off at the door. The tram and city bus stops are a ways away from the Vasa, the metro stop is even farther away.

I couldn’t find any reviews for the hoho boats, either Red or this other one. https://www.stromma.com/en-se/stockholm/sightseeing/sightseeing-by-boat/hop-on-hop-off-boat/

If time is really critical, post your exact itinerary with times starting at Arlanda. It might make sense to store your bags at Central Station and go directly to the Vasa from there on arrival.

Wow . . .I didn't realize it was that far from the Almanna Grande ferry to the museum. Rome to Rio says it takes 8 minutes and a Trip Advisor person says it takes 10 minutes. . . Yes,, my information is the ferry goes every 20 minutes and 20 minutes across.

Thank you for your help.

The 30 minutes walking is the sum of 20 minutes to the ferry then 10 minutes from.

Edit: To the ferry is only a 10 minute walk, not 20.

The airport? So you're not arriving by cruise ship? But yes, a 24 hour pass is 165 kr which is usually good value. If you plan to stay longer, look into a longer pass.

Yes, the Hop on/off boat is another option. But a much more expensive one. And I'm not sure it will be faster, yes it stops closer to both the cruise pier and the Vasa museum, but it doesn't travel the fastest way between the two. It stops in Gamla stan and Nybroviken on the way. It also only runs every 30 minutes, compared to the regular ferry that runs every 10 or 15 minutes depending on the time of the day. And the ferry ride takes less than 10 minutes normally,

I don't think a taxi will save you much (if any) time with the construction going on at Slussen and the fact that going by land is a huge detour. A boat taxi will save a bit of time, but might be a tad on the expensive side for such a short trip.
