It seems that there is quite an array of opinions on the HOHO tours with a lot of confusion. I like to take them to get a general overview of the city while still jet-lagged. A recorded narrative is fine. Does anyone have a clear idea of which company has the most versatile options and easiest instructions? Thanks so much!

We used the hoho buses and boats that are included with the Stockholm pass and found them easy enough to navigate. The bus route is long, but forms a couple of loops where you can walk from one stop to another easily, so you don't have to go all the way out to the cruise terminal if you don't want to. It also connects to the boats and they tell you in the recording when you're at those points.
