Happy Lucia Day to our Scandinavian friends

Today is Lucia Day. I see that @Badger did a post on this 4 years ago.

But here is a detailed article on this amalgam of the feast day of a 4th century Virgin martyr and the celebration of the Winter Solstice (under the Julian Calendar soon before Christianity came to Scandinavia) as a festival of light.-

I've been up early this morning to see the special programme from Swedish Public Television (SVT) this year from Kalmar Castle- https://www.svtplay.se/video/eyp53mM/luciamorgon-fran-kalmar-slott/luciamorgon-fran-kalmar-slott?id=eyp53mM

(thanks to the Seattle Swedish Club for signposting me to it)

Thank you! It's a nice tradition and a great way to shine some light during the darkest time of the year.

SVT's luciamorgon is usually a nice way to start the day with a mix of old and new.
