Good local food Stockholm in Feb

Hello
I am making my first stop of a multi week trip in Stockholm in early Feb.

I am traveling solo. I am looking for moderately priced traditional food for dinner? I have a good hotel so can get advice from them. But thought i would ask the forum. I am a meat and potato kind of guy. Been and wine also.

Ill be fighting some jet lag as my first stop.

I may sign on to Showaround and look for a good local guide.

For lunch, I recommend stopping by Saluhall in Ostermalm. You will love Stockholm. I also enjoyed a dinner cruise look at Stromma.com. There are many choices other than fish. Reindeer, moose, beef, pork, etc.

At what hotel are you staying?

For traditional Swedish food like meatballs (köttbullar) and potatoes, Bakfickan in the Opera House is a small place with counter seating that has good food and reasonable (for Stockholm) prices. Pelikan is an old-fashioned beer hall on Södermalm that also has traditional fare. You might also look at the market hall at Hötorget which has less expensive selections than the one in Östermalm. Beer and wine are expensive at restaurants. You can’t buy beer and wine in the grocery store; it is only sold at the state run liquor store called Systembolaget. Another cheap option is just to get a hot dog with mashed potatoes (”korv med mos”) or some other topping from one of the many kiosks that stay open late.

thank you. Three great options. I am there for 3 nights. Ill probably save my serious beer drinking for Prague or Warsaw.

I am staying at CRYSTAL PLAZA HOTEL. Do you know it? Got a good deal.
