Glitchy sj.se website when trying to buy train tickets

Is anyone else have trouble with the sj.se website? I've been trying to purchase train tickets from Stockholm to Leksand, and get the message **We're switching to a new booking system. To travel from 4 June, you need to book the journey in our new booking system."* Which is fine, but when I get to that booking system, I have repeatedly had the date I selected changed and then also the time selected change when continuing onto the next page. It seems very glitchy. When I communicated with them, I was told to clear my "cache" and try again.

I know I could probably purchase tickets when in Sweden, but the date I'm traveling is June 6th, which I've been told is Swedish National Day. So I prefer not to leave it till the last minute and take a chance on tickets not being available on the date or time we need. Thanks for any suggestions!

Strange, I just tried and it worked fine. I got to the payment section without any problems.

But there are probably some bugs that need to be fixed with the new booking system. Have you tried another browser?

There seem to be a time zone issue, so when you select June 6th it means June 6th 00:00 in the Swedish time zone and even if only a date should be shown that exact time is shown in your local time zone which is June 5th in the US. If you still see the correct date in the URL, I think it is safe to continue, the date is shown correctly again later in the process. You could also change your computer to Swedish time zone to avoid the problem.

I noticed the same thing! I want to buy tickets for June 12 and 15 but when I select those dates and go to the next page, it picks the day before!

Thank you for the replies- I'm now wondering if it's a problem when trying to get tickets from the U.S. My husband has even tried using the site in the Swedish language but had same difficulties. We are thinking of just getting tickets when we get to Malmo, but that would be just a day in advance. Will that be a problem? Do seats sell out usually?

Yes, that will be a problem. It's not unusual for trains to sell out, and even if there are seats left they will be very expensive if you try to buy them the day before.

Try it again. I just tried and it initially changed the date from June 6th to June 5th. When I continued the search with the June 5 date, It brought me to a ”Choose journey” page where you could select the correct date (dates were listed across the top of the page on an ipad). I picked a journey and went up through the step where you pay and ithe date seemed to be ok.

The SJ app has its own interface now (I think it just showed the web previously), could be worth trying.

I struggled with booking tickets on the website between Stockholm and Sala, traveling on June 4. The system was very glitchy and kept switching to June 5. Based on this forum I downloaded the App and booking tickets worked perfectly. Thank you for the suggestion!
