I read that Sweden has an online app/form that you use for the EES. Is this true? Does it really work as it says it does? Any one have any experience with it?
Thanks.
Thank you . Do you know if it really works?
Thanks J Phillips for bringing this up. I had not heard of it, but I just downloaded the app and will use it when I fly into Sweden in July. I figure if it works, great. If it doesn't, then I'm no worse off than I was before. 😊
J Phillips, I went ahead and downloaded the app and started filling in the information. I was stopped early on, though, as you evidently have to wait until about two weeks before your flight before you can enter all the data. That makes sense, since I'm sure they want to make sure the information is current.
Once you get that information in, you will need to scan your passport and take a selfie. So mine is on hold right now as I don't fly into Sweden until mid-July.
That said, the app looks like it's accurate and should work. And if it helps at all to move things along quickly, I'm all for that.
I have not used it, but it seems to be similar to the MPC app in the US, basically you enter in much of the information you would at a kiosk, with the intent that it speeds processing. However, I doubt it handles the fingerprints, and you likely still need to go to a manual immigrations booth (just skip the kiosk maybe?), the manual booth was what took the most time for me.
Only Portugal and Sweden use the app, not heard any reports of people using the app and "skipping the line" or that it speeded things up. I have heard several people (albeit for Portugal) download and use the app...then it played no role once they landed, they just were directed through the process.
My experience with the US MPC app is highly varied, I would expect the same with the EES app, but it is free and I suppose does not hurt to complete it in case it does help.
