Drottningholm Palace Tours

We plan to visit Drottningholm Palace and were wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to best see both the interior and/or the gardens. Are English tours available? Are they available at the palace or through other operators, and if so, which do you recommend? Do the tours need to be booked in advance?

Thanks!

We were there 20 years ago, and we were only interested in the Court Theater, a rare unchanged Baroque theater with the original scenery still in place. Everything in Europe sells out in advance these days. Because the palace can be seen only by tour, I believe only the "house" tours can be booked.

There is also a free audio guide available that has commentary for just about every
room, so I'd say a tour guide is not absolutely necessary.

The theater is not open until May, and I think that is a mandatory guided tour.
