Driving from Malmo to Stockholm. West Coast

What are you interested in? What time of the year are planning on doing the drive? How much time do you have?

I also guess this is part of a bigger plan, what does the trip look like?

are planning on being in Malmo this Monday and planning about 10 days of driving before we get to Stockholm. Most of our interests revolve around nature and things “non-touristy”. Thanks for your help!

For 10 days, there are many places to see along the way. A few suggestions:

• Sofiero palace just north of Helsingborg. Former summer residence of the Swedish royal family. The palace itself is not that spectular, but it has a wonderful garden.
• Söderåsen national park outside Helsingborg
• Varberg, charming seaside town in Halland. Popular summer destination with great beaches, a 13th century fortress and in general a nice place.
• Grimeton radio station, long wave radio station built in the 1920s for transatlantic communication. Now a world heritage site.
• Gothenburg. Great city, but park the car somewhere outside the city.
• Läckö slott, castle on the southern shore of lake Vänern.
• Kinnekulle, flat-topped mountain between Lidköping and Mariestad.
• Mariestad, charming small town.
• Tiveden national park in northeastern Västergötland.
