I am having trouble finishing the booking of bus tickets in sweden- do they not take american credit cards now either (like norway train line) ?

We don't have any experience with booking ahead for a bus in Sweden. I had an email last week from someone who had booked Non-rebookable) Copenhagen-Stockholm train tickets onlinethrough SJ and I assumed they were using a US card, although it could have been Canadian. Do check with your credit card issuer to be sure that 1) they have received the charge attempts and 2) they have not blocked them. I have also had my card immediately frozen after the first foreign transportation purchase, so if you bought something else already, that may have triggered a fraud alert.

We recently purchased tickets from SJ online. I had trouble with the first card I tried, but they accepted my American Express card.

We only accept VISA/Mastercards from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland when booking tickets at swebus.se or over the phone.
You can still use you card to buy tickets at our office's, Pressbyrån and at www.sj.se
