Christmas markets Copenhagen vs. Gothenburg

Does anyone have experience with the Christmas markets in these cities? We are heading to Scandinavia in December and will be spending time in both Copenhagen and Gothenburg on our way to Stockholm. I'm leaning 2 nights in Copenhagen and 3 in Gothenburg, but should that be switched? Based on our arrival into Copenhagen and the date we need to be in Stockholm, it isn't an option adding an extra night - we have 5 nights total. We won't spend the whole time in Christmas markets, but are wondering which city would be the best to add an extra night. We can always balance extra time based on train schedule to add a few more hours in one city or the other, so it isn't a huge deal. Anyone have any thoughts?

Regarding Christmas markets, I'd say that is a bit of a toss up. The markets at Tivoli and Liseberg are both worth a visit. Copenhagen is the larger city, so might for that reason deserve a bit more time. But both are lovely cities in my opinion and you can easily spend a week in each.
