Car Rental question - Malmo

Here I am again! So thankful for this forum.

We will be taking the train from Copenhagen to Malmo in the early evening of Friday, July 27.

Can anyone make suggestions as to these questions:

1) We will be taking the train from Copenhagen Central Station (not the airport) to Malmo. In Malmo, we'd like to find a hotel that is both located walking distance from the Malmo Central train station as well as walking distance to a car rental agency (at this point, preferably Hertz). We will be needing to pick up a rental car the morning of Saturday, July 28, by about 9:00 a.m.

2) Regarding car rental, my preference is Hertz because I'm familiar with them in the USA, but willing to consider other car rental agencies. My main concern is that in researching car rental, quite a few stations indicate self-service. I think most "self-service" kiosks also do have some manned office hours, but I can't tell what exact hours someone would be there each day. (I have not yet contacted Hertz, but will eventually). I do not want to deal with self service.

Can you suggest a hotel and car rental agency (with manned office) that are both close to the Malmo Central Station?

I hope this post is understandable...just let me know if it is not!

To add to my original post above, we will be returning the car in Stockholm.

Can anyone also tell me whether the Hertz office located at: "Stockholm, Kungsholmen - Strandbergsgatan 12 & Self Service Kiosk" would have a manned office during the regular business hours on Saturday, August 4? We will probably arrive into Stockholm by 4 to 5 p.m.

I have received a lot of advice about not needing a car in Stockholm. We will be driving in from Katrineholm. I've looked at the map several times, but cannot decide whether we should arrange to return the rental car to the airport and then take the shuttle to our rental unit in Kungsholmen.....or to arrange to return it at the Kungsholmen Hertz location. Any thoughts?

Hertz and a few other major rental agencies are located on the north side of Malmo Central station, where I also see at least a couple of hotels. Across the river (south) from the station is a larger concentration of hotels and restaurants, as well as a Europcar office.

The main airport (Arlanda) is about 45 minutes north of the city so it would be out of your way. There is a smaller airport in Bromma with a Hertz, which is closer to the city but still out of your way.

If you google Standbergsgatan 12 and look at the streetview, this appears to be a larger Hertz location but it is not clear what hours are manned. You could call them. +46 8 656 9500. I personally, would go to the location on Kungsholmen since it is near where you are staying.
