Hello,
We bought ferry tickets from Nynäshamn to Visby through Direct Ferries and not directly through Destination Gotland. We'd like to use the bus from Stockholm to the Nynäshamn ferry dock. Can we just get on the bus at Stockholm Central and pay on the bus? (I know it costs a little more than buying in advance.) Hopefully it won't be too difficult to find the bus. I've read online it's possible to buy tickets on the bus, and I've also read we have to call a number and ask for bus transfer tickets. Any advice welcome.
There is a direct train from Stockholm Central to Nynashamn, if you'd prefer that to bus.
I've heard there's a train also, but is there an advantage to the ferry-specific bus because it takes you directly to the ferry port?
The train station is across the street from the ferry port. Have a look at Google Maps and you'll see its an easy walk.
EDIT: I do see there are two ports in Nynashamn. Its likely you're going from the central one, but I'd better not presume. Better check.
Their website says that you can buy onboard.

I’ve only use the commuter train (pendeltåg) to get to Nynäshamn. If you happen to have bought an SL travelcard, the train journey is covered by your SL ticket.
