Bruce Springsteen concert in Stockholm in July

Hello travelers, I'd appreciate any advice on the simplest way to get to Stockholm from Paris as well as any hotel recommendations with easy access to the Friends Arena where a Bruce Springsteen concert will be taking place. I can see that Ticketmaster has reasonably priced re-sale tickets available but I haven't purchased any yet because I don't know my way between Paris and Stockholm or what the city of Stockholm and the Friends Arena venue are like.

We will be in Paris for the month of July and traveling from there. Also in your experience, do you think a trip like this will be relatively manageable given the logistics involved in getting to Stockholm a week before the Paris Olympics? Many thanks in advance.

Friends Arena is a big soccer stadium. Concert capacity is 60,000. There are 2 hotels next to the stadium, otherwise Solna station is nearby with trains from central Stockholm.

Stockholm is a great town. Arlanda Express trains zip into the center city in about 20 minutes from the airport.

Getting from Paris to Stockholm and back is not that tricky. SAS and Air France have several daily flights between the cities. Book at www.flysas.com or www.airfrance.com

Friends Arena is a large stadium a bit north of central Stockholm, used for football, bandy, concerts and much more. There are two hotels next to the arena as mentioned but the chance of finding free rooms there are a reasonable price might be tricky. But you'll never know.

Solna station is just next to the arena, so it's easy to get to central Stockholm. But if hotel prices are expensive there you can also take the train north and stay in Uppsala instead.

The train also stops at Odenplan and Södra station. Another stop is Älvsjö which has a convention center and a few hotels that can be cheaper, but it's a boring area.

Thank you all for your helpful advice. I've checked SAS and Air France and can see that Air France offers more direct flights but at a higher fare. Booking.com lists a good amount of affordable hotels nearby. Friends Arena is huge! No wonder the ticket prices are very reasonable. I'll look into hotels in the surrounding areas as well as Stockholm. Thanks again.
