Hi, we will be Stockholm for 6 nights and are looking for the best places to have Swedish meatballs and the best bakeries in the Sodermalm area. Since we have 7 days in Stockholm, we have plenty of time to try different places!
My favorite bakeries are FABRIQUE -- I don't know if there are any in Sodermalm, but they have a few dotted across the city, so google them and see !!
The best places is of course a question that is impossible to answer. De gustibus non est disputandum, but here are a few good suggestion for meatballs. They all serve them the classical way, but some have their own twist on them.
Pelikan, Södermalm. https://pelikan.se/
Meatballs for the people, Södermalm. http://meatball.se/sv/
A new restaurant which could be a good option for some less traditional take on meatballs.
Den gyldene freden, Gamla stan. https://gyldenefreden.se
Founded 300 years ago it is one of the oldest restaurants in world and a good place if you want meatballs that are a bit more upscale. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Den_Gyldene_Freden
Operabaren or Backfickan. https://www.operakallaren.se
A bar and a restaurant at the Opera house, another good place for a bit more upscale meatballs.
Prinsen, Östermalm. https://restaurangprinsen.se
Tranan, Norrmalm. http://www.tranan.se/restaurang/
While they don't always have meatballs on the menu, they always serve them.
Rökeriet, Fjäderholmarna. https://www.rokeriet-fjaderholmarna.se
A short boat trip from central Stockholm but worth considering.
Regarding bakeries, what are you looking for? Good bread or some fika?
We should try both, bread and fika!
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions.
