We will be in Stockholm in late July, 2025. Any suggestions as to a nice area for a hotel that is close to restaurants and attractions?

I will be on the RS Scandanavian Tour next summer. Our initial hotel is:
Clarion Collection® Hotel Wellington

Storgatan 6, 11451 Stockholm
It's near the Metro and bus line. You also may have to use boat transportation - depending where you want to go.
The things recommended in the RS Tour Book and what I want to see are close to the hotel.
I do not mind wandering on foot, and use public transportation when I need to.
CentralBadet (the only spa recommended in the tour book is also close.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Nobel Prize Museum in the Gamla Stan.

Definitely. Try the Nybroplan area, where Best Western Esplanade has had the pleasure of having several satisfied North American guests this summer, who returned here to tell the tale. Gamla Stan (Old town) is always a safe bet. Lots of atmosphere. I stayed at Scandic Gamla Stan this week. Sven Vintappare (1607/1780) with just 7 (unforgettable) rooms, is also a good choice and a treat.

Any particular attractions? Stockholm is spread out on several islands (and the mainland) and you probably need to travel between them for different attractions. Nybroplan is not a bad choice, neither is Gamla stan. Although the latter means old buildings. Another very good option is Södermalm, while not as many attractions as other parts of the city there is a good selection of restaurants on the island.
