Best Archipelago Islands

I am taking my family (me, fifty something wife, 22 year old son and 20 year old daughter) to Stockholm for five days in early August. I am working on our itinerary and tentatively am scheduling two full days to explore the Archipelago - separate day trips to Vaxholm and Siarofortet. We are looking for a little of everything - history, nature (walking trails and/or biking) and cafes.

Are these island worth full day trips? Are there other alternative islands that are better to visit? Should I be pairing islands for full day trips? Any insights into the Archipelago is greatly appreciated.

We took a ferry out to Fjaderholmarna, 30 minute trip from Nybroplan, for lunch, a nice day trip.

We are doing Grinda. There are other cheaper boats that go to different archipelago but we booked a trip from Stromma. Have read that Sandhamn is very beautiful but we don't have that much time to explore that one.

Grinda was lovely for quiet hikes and exploring the shore. We stopped at Vaxholm for a few hours on the way to the airport. It was a nice enough place, but it was very, very crowded and commercial in comparison. With only 5 days in Stockholm I would take one day trip to one quiet island to enjoy the pristine nature as a contrast from Stockholm and to recharge for the rest of the trip or for the flight home.

I took a canal tour to Sandhamm. Very scenic and enjoyable.
