Are all Scandanavia tours sold out for the rest of the year?

I just looked at the "Best of Scandanavia in 14 days" tour and all of the tour dates for 2026 except for the first two were marked as "Join Waitlist". Does that mean that all of these tours are sold out for the rest of 2026 already? If not, what does "Join Waitlist" mean?

Thanks for any info - this is the first time I have looked at a Rick Steves tour.

Correct. The first two tours have a couple of seats left. The rest are full, and if you want to be added to the waitlist for a specific tour date, then you add your name to the waitlist. If something opens up, you are notified.

I’ve noticed that the Scandinavia tour is very popular and fills up quickly every year. The 2027 dates should be announced this spring, so keep an eye out.

Something you should know about the waitlist: When an opening is available, they contact everyone on the list at once. Whoever responds first gets the space, so you need to act fast.

Rick Steves tours are great. I hope you’ll have the chance to try one!

If you call perhaps you can find out how deep the wait list for the date(s) you are looking for..

If you have flexibility with when you can travel you might be able to improve your odds by choosing dates that have short(er) wait lists.

Good luck

many fill all their seats a year or more in advance of the trip. I guess this means it's a great tour, or there is a huge demand to visit Scandinavia

Another piece of the puzzle is that the Scandinavian tour is offered for a limited number of months each year compared to other tour destinations. Limited supply meets high demand = sign up early.
