Advice for a Stockholm itinerary with a little girl

Hi everyone, in August I’ll be going to Sweden for about 13 days with my partner and my little girl, who will be a year and a half old. Since she doesn’t really enjoy traveling by car at the moment, we’ve adjusted our plans and decided to focus our trip on Stockholm and the surrounding areas.
Once we land in Stockholm, we’ll head straight to Vindö, where we’ll stay for 4 days. Then we’ll move on to Mariefred for another 3 days. Finally, we’ll spend the last 6 days in Stockholm, exploring the city and using it as a base for some day trips.
I’d like to ask you experts for some advice:
- since we won’t be renting a car, will getting around by public transport be very complicated? We’ll be traveling with two large backpacks and a stroller with our child;
- would it be worth getting some kind of travel pass? in addition to the 3 places mentioned (and moving around Stockholm itself), we’re planning to visit Uppsala, Sigtuna, and Drottningholm, as well as traveling to and from Arlanda Airport;
- is there any must-see place or attraction in this area that we should consider?

Any other advice is very, very welcome!!
Thank you,
Chiara

A 7 day travel pass with SL is 470 SEK in the app or 520 SEK on a card, single trip is 43 SEK so I think the pass has good value. Not valid all the way to Uppsala, you can combine it with a UL ticket to ride on SL-trains to Uppsala or buy a full train ticket Stockholm-Uppsala to ride other trains. For Drottningholm I recommend a boat at least one way like booking a boat going there and going back with more frequent public transport when you're finished.

Airport transportation has many choices, expensive express train, slower mid-priced commuter trains and airport coaches, SL bus to Märsta commuter train station with just using an SL ticket. The destination also matters, the coach or the commuter train might have as stop close by.

You should at least visit the Vasa museum and Skansen.

There is a nicer playground called "Mulle Meck lekpark" based on the likely unknown Gary Gadget character. I'm not saying it's worth going there, but it's not that far from the Ulriksdal commuter train station and you will experience a suburban area too.

At 18 months, your child won’t remember the trip. So make it so you and your partner can enjoy the best of it with the company of a child.

Vasa museum is a must in Stockholm, in my opinion. I was there only for one single full day, unfortunately, so only did a few things. I think a tour of City Hall is also not to be missed, and requires advance reservation. But I am not sure of age requirements (I think you should be fine to bring child for free).

I took my kid at that age to New York City for the first time. I was visiting friends, and she doesn’t remember a thing. I had lived in NYC for a long time so didn't need to visit tourist spots, but took her to Central Park and playgrounds. My point is - try to blend what YOU want to see/do with activities for the toddler.

Maybe time a museum visit with nap time on stroller. Or just stroll around Gamla Stan. Bring a good stroller and expect cobblestone.

I was short on time so I took the Arlanda Express from/to airport. It was very convenient and fast! I know pricier. My return flight was very early so I stayed at a hotel near the AE stop in central Stockholm and not too far from the Train Station. It worked well for me. With a child, you may want to find a hotel that suits your need for space and access to transport hub if you will be taking day trips.
