6 hour layover in Stokholm airport

Pending our flight not being delayed going to Sweden, we have a 6 hour layover before our next flight. Is it advisable to try and visit any surrounding places instead of sitting in the airport?

I would to thank all responders in advance.

There is special round trip ticket for a quick visit to Stockholm from the airport on the Arlanda Express. Its called a 6-hour return ticket for 320 SEK. Trains run every 15 minutes and takes 20 minutes to central Stockholm. So 3-4 hours in Stockholm seems doable.

designs,

Don't forget you have to get through customs/immigrations and then go back through security.

id play it by ear, but at the least have a "to do" list and the "know how" to get from the the airport and back and to get around town.

happy trails.

I've had quite a few 6hr layovers at Arlanda (in my case, SAS from Chicago to Helsinki often has a 6hr layover for the last leg) and usually just hang around the airport and catch up on sleep, reading etc cause the time does fly by. I've also used Arlanda Express a few times to meet a friend in Stockholm or to buy something there. Easy and convenient to use but remember to be back in time to go through security and immigration. I almost missed my flight once when there was an unusually long line at security caused by a large tour group of about 50 people. I had anticipated no lines so had arrived 1hr before departure expecting it to take 10-15mins like it previously did. Barely made it on time!
