2 weeks in Norway and Sweden

Hi,

We are planning a trip for our family of 5 (3 kids, 9-14) for two weeks, and plan to spend 4 days at the end of the trip staying with family in Copenhagen. My husband wants to visit fjords of Norway and I want to include Stockholm and possibly other picturesque villages/towns in Sweden. What is the best way to accomplish all of this, given about 12 days before we head to Copenhagen and fly back stateside? To which city should we fly? Rent a car (which we are comfortable doing)? Any hints on loops? We always stay at least 2 nights in each place.

Thank you!

We found travel through Scandinavia to be deadly expensive when we were there a year ago.
The easiest and most thrifty to travel throughout the region is by cruise ship. St. Petersburg for 2 days was the highlight of our trip.
We grabbed 4 nights in Copenhagen during our trip and flew on Norwegian Air Shuttle to Oslo for $75 each. Then we took the Norway in a Nutshell train and fast ferry trip over to Bergen. We flew home from here.
