2 Nights in Stockholm

My wife and I will be in Europe for a little over a week next month - first time in many years with no kids! We will be in Stockholm for a short 2.5 days before we take the overnight ferry to Helsinki. We are looking for recommendations for sights and off the beaten path things to do. If there are major museums or historical sights that require advance booking, please advise. We splurged on a stay at the At Six Museum near the Kulturhuset Stadsteatern. Also, I assume Uber is fine to get to the ferry terminal - or are we better off to pre-book one of the buses that go there regularly?

What you should do depends a bit on your interests, but there are no attractions that need to be booked in advance that I can think of. The Vasa museum is very popular, and for a good reason. The northern part of Södermalm is a good place for a walk, there are some streets that give you a great view of the city, and so do the local ferries.

Brunkebergs torg is not the most interesting part of the city in my opinion, but it's pretty central and has decent access to public transportation. The ferry companies' own transfer buses are a great way to get to the ferries, and are often my first choice. They are good, have plenty of luggage space and pretty cheap. And you don't need to plan when to arrive in the port, you know when the bus leaves and that you will make it to the ferry. Should the bus get stuck in traffic, the ferry company will be aware of it and the ferry can wait.

I do not recommend using taxis as a way to get around in Stockholm, and especially not Uber. But if you really want to use a taxi app, try Taxi Stockholm or Fair taxi.
