1 day in Lund

Hi,

I am wondering what we should do if we have only 1 day in Lund? We are a family of 4 and would like to walk around the university. Thanks.

Best,
Suzanne

The cathedral is beautiful (Romanesque).

I very much enjoyed the Skissernas Museum, which has drawings and models for public-art projects. I didn't know exactly what to expect--and apparently most other first-time visitors don't, according to the staff, but it was very interesting, and I spent over 2 hours there.

Adelgatan and Tomegapsgatan are streets with 18th-century houses. There are others on nearby streets.

There's also a botanical garden, which might be nice if you have good weather. I think it's free.

All of the above are reasonably close to the university.

Again, depends a bit on what you're looking for. And when this trip is.

But just walking around the older central parts is not a bad idea, and a visit to the cathedral. And if you want to feel like a local, have a falafel for lunch at Clemenstorget.

On campus, stick to the older part in Lundagård (park) near the center of town and the cathedral (also a must see). The library is also a nice older building. You can find some good info here: https://www.touristinformationlund.se/attractions/university-history/
Around the university there are a lot of picturesque streets with cobblestones and older houses: Adelgatan, Stora (big) and Lilla (little) Sigridsgatan and Hjortgatan among them.
If you are really interested, the website above also includes info about the local volunteer 'greeters' who offer free walking tours for groups up to 6 people - worthwhile if you want more background info rather than just a wander around.
This open-air museum in the same area might also interest you (if you have time): https://www.kulturen.com/welcome-kulturens-museums/kulturen-in-lund/
For cinnamon or cardamom buns, I recommend Broder Jakobs Stenugnsbageri on Klostergatan for a nice break. If you like food halls, check out https://lundssaluhall.se/en/home/
