I’m looking to take the train from Zaragoza in the morning to fly out later in the afternoon from either Madrid or Barcelona. Where I’m getting tangled up in my planning is which city would be easier to get from the train station to the airport easily? We will only have carry on bags.
Hi Andrea, Madrid wins by about a half hour in travel time. You can either take the train from Zaragoza to Atocha train station and transfer to the airport train to MAD or Zaragoza to Santa and transfer to the airport train to BCN. It’s a close toss up.
I do see you’re from Portland. Flights to Madrid have been several hundred less to PDX than Barcelona recently, if it makes a difference. You should come to our Portland travel group every third Saturdayof the month at 10 am, Panera Bread on Nyberg Rd. Let’s chat!
To answer your question I think Barcelona would be easier to get from the train station to the airport. In Barcelona they are roughly in the south of the city, while in Madrid they are an opposite sides north and south of the city.
Thank you. You are confirming what I was starting to conclude. Our flight back to the US is actually from Paris the next day (using miles). I’m thinking I should allow a few hours between arrival at the train station and departing to Paris.
Fly Zaragoza to almost Paris ?
