I have an extra day in Barcelona that I'd like to use up with a partial day trip. I'm more set to check out Zaragoza. I'm willing to get there early morning (by 8:30- 9 am) but not wanting to leave after 5 or 6 pm. Would that be enough to see most sights? I'm also going back and forth of keeping my return open, but realize that would probably end up costing more. I know Tarragona is so much closer and the train would be cheaper. I'm just having a hard time deciding and would welcome feedback. I'm into seeing great architecture and churches. I've seeing many Roman ruins before, so that wouldn't be my primary focus if I went to Tarragona.

Zaragoza is so far. I'd consider Girona, which is much closer and has lots to offer (in my opinion, more than Tarragona). Hopefully others who have been to Girona more recently than I have will chime in - or use the search feature on this site. I know there have been some recent discussions.

I'm already going to Girona :-). Zaragoza is less than 2 hours, which to me is not far.
