Seeking flexible early morning travel time from Seville to Granada on either Dec 21, 22 or 23 (still working out my itinerary). Would prefer private driver, but costs have been $700. Rental car is less than $60 + gas (pick up in Seville and drive to Granada when I drop off and taxi to hotel). I know it's a 2-3 hr drive and I have an international DL. I would like to be in Granada by noon and don't see train or bus schedules that would enable. Looking for suggestions. Seems rental car is most cost effective answer for my travel objective. Other thoughts?

The ALSA bus web site is not behaving for me right now, but I think there is an 8:15 AM bus that arrives in Granada around 11:15 AM. I haven't visited southern Spain recently, but I took lots of buses elsewhere in Spain this year and found them comfortable.

You are looking far too early on the ALSA and RENFE websites for your dates. Simply look at an imminent date, little or nothing will change.

The bus would be far cheaper than renting a car plus in the inconvenience. The train would be about the same time because there is some reconstruction on-going on a section of the tracks between Seville and Granada so you are bused around the construction site. There are at least three trains - 0635, 0650, 0800 that all arrive in Granada before noon.
