Would like info about tours/ guides in La Rioja

My husband and I will be traveling with 6 other friends in La Rioja mid-October. We have all been vaccinated. We would like to arrange for someone to take us to some interesting, maybe smaller, wineries for tastings around La Rioja. We will all be staying in Haro. Only 2 of us speak any Spanish, so someone who speaks English and can translate would be necessary. Can anyone provide recommendations? I have been striking out with my online searches. Thanks!

La Rioja is an autonomous region within Spain, which has another 16, and it has wineries only on its northern part (Rioja Alta) and eastern area (Rioja Oriental or Eastern Rioja). Not to be mistaken with Rioja DOC wine region, which has three areas: the two above mentioned and Rioja Alavesa, which is in the BAsque Country and offers the hightest concentration of wineries in the Rioja DOC wine region. Also, there´s a very small part of Rioja DOC in Castile and León, and also in western Navarre. Haro is in Rioja Alta, in La Rioja, next door to Rioja Alavesa, Basque Country. Thabuca is a good company doing tours in the area, for example.

I am scheduled for a tour as you describe with Rebeca Perez of "Rioja like a Native" at https://www.riojalikeanative.com/ . I haven't actually used her yet but I selected her company over a year ago and she has hung with me through two postponements. We will be going in mid September. I work in the wine industry here in the USA and she was able to answer all of my questions and seemed to have a good plan for the tour. Her English through email is great. and she is vaccinated also.

Thank you so much for that information. I will look into her website. Right now some of our group is having second thoughts about traveling abroad because of the delta variant. So we might postpone until spring. But assuming you make it there next month, I would love to hear about your experience. Buen viaje!
