wineries in Andalucia

Hello, I am searching the forum but hoping someone could provide updated pearls on visiting a few special bodegas in Andalucia? We will have a car and are venturing from Seville through Ronda, Granada, and then the Coast. I know that Andalucia does not match the Rioja region but I'm still feeling confident we will find some winners!

Have you worked with a wine tour you particularly enjoyed?
Aside from Sherry, any bodegas featuring red wine that you particularly enjoyed?
Do we need reservations in advance?
Thank you,

Full disclosure: I got to know the owner through a wine message board we both are active on. My wife and I had planned to visit at some time and stay in the guest house they rent, but our schedule didn’t ever work out.

It’s located on the hills above Ugíjar, overlooking the ocean. There are worse places to walk the vineyards with a glass of wine. DM if you want her contact info.

If you´re looking for something really off the beaten path but with great wines, this is the Condado de Huelva D.O. Very much unknown, they make great whites (Andalucía is not a land of good reds...) and excellent orange and lemon wines, something really out of this world. They use Zalema grape, one of the very few that survived the filoxera in Europe, because the vines of this grape grow on sandy terrain. https://docondadodehuelva.es/en/

Outside of sweet fortified wines like Sherry, there are not much in terms of wineries for reds in Andalucía, the terroir just ain't the same like up north. There may be some young red wines around the sierras de Malaga, but may be just plonk comparatively.

A quick google search found this one close to Ronda - https://cortijolosaguilares.com/pages/visita
