White villages tour from Seville - tour company recommendations

We want to do a tour of the white villages from Seville in March 2023. We don't necessarily want to go as far as Ronda but would be happy with Arcos de La Frontera, Zahara de La Sierra and Grazalema. I suffer from chronic fatigue and so a 10+ hour tour is just way too long for me to enjoy.

So far the only company we can find that looks like it could do this is Magic of Seville but at €850 for two of us it's out of our budget.

Does anyone have recommendations for a tour company or guide you have used in Seville that do white villages tours focusing on Cadiz province?

When I was researching my 2019 trip, there was a company running a one-day bus tour to Ronda and at least a couple of the white villages. I wasn't interested in that, because I was already planning to overnight in Ronda, which is large enough that I felt a combo day trip from Seville just wasn't going to cut it. I don't blame you for not wanting to take on a marathon like that.

What I did was take a public bus (round trip) from Seville to Arcos de la Frontera. The bus drops you in the lower town, so you'll want to use some form of transportation to get to the top of the hill. I think there are buses; I'd think there would also be taxis. Arcos isn't a really tiny place, so you'll want to give yourself adequate time there. Perhaps you can make your trip align with the bus schedule by fiddling around with your lunch plans. (I've been known to skip lunch and munch on packaged peanuts so I can take the next bus out rather than waiting 3 or 4 hours for another one.)

Carmona is another good day trip you can from Seville by bus. It's attractive, with lots of white-washed houses. It doesn't have that hillside cuteness you'll find in Arcos but, on the other hand, you don't have to deal with a steep hill!

I don't think it's practical to see two of the most-often-mentioned hill towns in a single day while using public transportation, but I've read that Ecija is attractive, and it's beyond Carmona along the same highway, so those two could perhaps be paired in a single day.

Seville has two bus stations, so if you decide to take a day trip by public bus, be sure you know which station it departs from.

Thanks I will look into a bus to Arcos de La Frontera. Is this something we could potentially combine with Cadiz which is also on the day trip list? I will check into this. We have six days (7 nights in Seville) and are considering doing an overnight to Cadiz with just a daypack and leaving our luggage at our apartment in Seville.

When travelling we often have a big breakfast at the hotel then get through to dinner munching on cashews and dried apricots and a piece of fruit! Makes day trips much easier and is so much cheaper than a sit down lunch.

Carmona is on our day trip itinerary as we are having a vaguely Roman theme to our holiday.

The fastest access to Arcos by bus is from Jerez la Frontera, which is right on the rail line between Seville and Cadiz. Depending on how much time you decide to spend in Cadiz, you might be able to see Arcos on the way back to Seville by taking the train to Jerez and picking up an Arcos bus there.

I haven't been to Jerez myself, but I think I remember seeing a schedule showing a good number of buses from Jerez to Arcos--though I was traveling in April rather than March. Do check on the bus schedule, and pay attention to the day of the week.

In 2017, we used Naturanda for a day trip from Seville to Jerez de la Frontera and Cadiz. The tour and their customer service were excellent. They also offer tours to the White Villages. I would share the link but we have no power at the moment.

When we were in Cadiz, we took a bus to Vejer de la Frontera, just another option to throw in the mix. Ooh--speaking of Roman ruins--do you know about Baelo Claudia at Bolonia, it's near Vejer.

Yes, we do. It's on the Roman list but logistics might be too difficult as we won't have a car. But we are going to see plenty of Roman things in other places. After Seville we are headed to Merida and will have already been to Tarragona.
