We are traveling to Spain and will spend five nights in Barcelona at the beginning of October. We are looking at the various Barcelona passes and trying to figure out if the Barcelona City Pass includes skipping the lines at attractions other than the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. In the descriptions I've read this pass includes the Sagrada Familia and Park GUell and specifically point out that you skip the line, but nothing about that for other attractions. However, frequently the descriptions mention saving time. Any advice or shared experiences from folks who have purchased either this pass or one of the other various passes would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Bill, very helpful!
Many thanks Bill, this is all super helpful.
You are a wealth of information. Many thanks!!!
As long as you are being so helpful, do you think the pass for Madrid is worth it?
You’re amazing! I was actually thinking about the Madrid Card, which Rick Steves mentions in a post.
HI...We'll be in BCN for 5 days prior to boarding a ship and I was confused on the pass options too. Did a lot of reading (Barcelonahacks.com is awesome site) and just wondering if this is our best option for what we want? Advice please...
We're going to do the Hola BCN transportation for 96 hours, (27.50eur) then add more on the T-10 as needed for transportation the last few days. Since we're only doing 1 way from the airport it didn't make a lot of sense to buy the City Pass to use the Aerobus & we were not interested in the HO/HO busses, and we'd still have to buy a transportation ticket on top of the City Pass.
We'll buy the entries separately to SF, PG and Casa Mila. Most everything we were going to book had the timed entry. Also looking at going to the Paulau de la Musica concert hall on this visit.
Out of curiosity - Bill Sinclair - are you familiar with Castadefells? I stayed there about 12 years ago at the Hotel Playafells and ate at a wonderful restaurant just across the street. Outside seating..had the best fish and grilled artichokes! I don't know if it's still there or even the name, but I think we'll take the train out there one day and roam around. Thanks!!
FYI - The Madrid Card is no longer available, and the Madrid "City Pass" doesn't look very appealing - 20% off a few attractions and a HOHO ticket.
