My husband and I will be in Barcelona in early June for 2 nights on our way home after a cruise. After doing some research, I think I've narrowed down our hotel choices to either Hotel Curious or Hotel Inglaterra. Can anyone that has stayed at either of these hotels offer any opinions? Any ideas for other hotels in that similar price range and general area? Since we'll only be there for 2 nights, we want something fairly centrally located. Thanks!

First of all I have not stayed at either so cannot give a first hand impression.
Inglaterra is on busy Pelai, smack bang between Universitat and Placa Catalunya, and I stayed a few doors down on my first visit to Barcelona way back in 1989. Whilst very central it could be a little noisy, but has great street presence.
Curious is rated higher and gets rave reviews on Tripadvisor. In (quite a dingy narrow) back street it may be quieter however, and is very close for the Ramblas & Bari Gotico.
Looking at their websites I prefer the funky style of Curious over the more traditional Inglaterra. I think this is your point of difference.

Just home from Barcelona and we stayed at Hotel Denit (a Rick recommendation). A two minute walk to Placa Catalunya, five minute walk to the Metro station as well as to the top of the Ramblas. The staff bent over backwards to help with dining and touring information. You will not be sorry!!!
