Where to stay in Madrid and Seville

Hello. My husband and I will be in Spain early October and looking for hotel accommodations for Madrid and Seville. We are looking at more mid range places- not high luxury but not necessarily budget hotels. We prefer to stay closer to city center since we would like to walk to most of the attractions.
Thank you in advance

In Sevilla, I loved the Hotel Amadeus, especially for the evening rooftop view of the Cathedral and Giralda. The music-themed hotel was delightful to pass through on the way to/from my room. And their breakfast chocolate (request to order) was deliciously decadent. My only knock is that the delicious breakfast was carb heavy and served at the table, so it was harder to pick and choose without being wasteful.

I see from your other post that you will be on your honeymoon. Congratulations!

My Room 301 (I believe it's the "Falla" room) at Hotel Amadeus in Sevilla might be a nice choice. It is on an upper floor, accessible by elevator and a few steps, and secluded with an entry that leads to its private patio, furnished with a small table and chairs and a patio couch. The door to the room is on one side of that patio. The room's patio doesn't have a view, but it is a few steps from the stairs that lead up to the rooftop balcony. On the opposite side of that balcony, down a different set of stairs, is a hot tub for guests.

Thank you! Yes it is a honeymoon trip- vey excited!
I think we looked at Amadeus and it was booked already! Crazy how fast they book up.
We also have Hotel Fernando and Hotel Catalonia on our list of choices so that’s good to know.
Thanks a bunch!

Bagladi, try emailing the Amadeus instead of just checking the website. The website showed no available rooms, but when I emailed I was told rooms were available.

I just booked the Fernando for a couple of days after our upcoming September Best of Spain tour; it's rated slightly higher than the Amadeus, and was €100 per night less.

We had a wonderful experience in Sevilla staying at the historic Hotel Alfonso XIII.
On another trip to Sevilla we enjoyed our stay at Colon Gran Melia.

*I think we looked at Amadeus and it was booked already!"

I see rooms available on August 31, but nothing beginning September 1 or for any dates I checked in September and October. Their schedules may not be open that far out. I booked in March for my dates in November. I would advise to keep checking, or email the hotel as suggested above.
