I am planning a trip to Barcelona with my grandson (college graduation present) and would like to find a good place to stay for about 6 days. Air bnb would be my first choice...hotel would be okay. What neighborhood would be best...close to major attractions, safe, walking distance to restaurants, etc. ? Thank you!
This AirBnB was perfect for us (and has 2 bedrooms, in case one of you snores) - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19288657 . Location: On Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes near the Rocafort Metro stop. Many good restaurants within walking distance.
We stayed here for 8 days.
If I were a visitor to Barcelona looking for a short term rental I would search around the Gràcia neighborhood. Gràcia is the very walk-able artsy hip area of Barcelona, it feels more like a quieter smaller town than part of the bustling metropolis of Barcelona.

Thank you for your suggestions!
Just to give you more headaches as to where to stay, :-)
We stayed in what is called officially Sant Marti, but in what I would call El born neighborhood. We were a minute away from La Basilica de Santilla Del Mar.
We loved it. It's old, trendy, small boutiques, great restaurants, walking distance from a lot of things, such as Barri Gothic neighborhood for instance. and 5 minutes away from a metro station, Jaume I.
I walked the city a lot and would return in this section of the city tomorrow if I was returning
Thanks for your help!

Two blocks from La Sagrada Familia.
There's no such thing as "El Born neighbourhood". El Born is merely a short 300-yard tree-lined boulevard... located in the neighbourhood of La Ribera, in the district of Ciutat Vella.
