Where to stay in Barcelona

Hello All. I hope to be in Barcelona (first time ever) for 7 nights in mid to late October. I understand that airbnb is no longer (or is less) of an option than it used to be so a hotel will be the likely choice. Not looking for a luxury hotel but don't want a flea bag, either. Boutique hotel would be nice but big/chain hotels are acceptable, just as long as it's quiet at night. Would also like it to be close to some of the city's sights or at least a short metro ride from the sights. I understand that Chic Room Barcelona may also be an option. Has anyone ever used CRB? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

I have stayed in Barcelona a couple of times for work, one time for holiday. I love staying at Hotel Midmost: https://www.hotelmidmost.com/en. It is near the Ramblas and Gothic quarter and a metro stop is just five minutes away. What we loved about Hotel Midmost was the excellent service, the rooftop terrace with a small pool and an amazing organic breakfast. If you can get a room with a private patio, it is a real treat to have a glass of wine after a long-day of siteseeing.

The other place I have stayed on business Grand Hotel Central in the gothic quarter.: https://www.grandhotelcentral.com. It is a 5-star hotel with a gym, restaurant, infinity pool and lovely spacious rooms. I actually prefer Hotel Midmost, not only for the price, but service.

Have a great trip,
Sandy

We enjoyed everything about our stay at Hotel Granvia. Professional and warm staff; large room; great breakfast; walking distance to many sites and close to the metro. Our room faced the street, yet it was still quiet. I believe that interior rooms are smaller and a bit darker. Highly recommend the hotel. http://www.hotelgranvia.com/en/

You understand wrong. Airbnb, same than Homestay and the rest, are an option as valid as any other... providing you book a "legally" registered and licensed apartment (read please: http://meet.barcelona.cat/habitatgesturistics/en). You have more than 10,000 tourist apartments legally registered in the city to choose from.
