Where to get local sim card for cellphone in Madrid?

My daughter will be vacationing in Spain (Madrid, Sevilla, Granada) for 10 days in April. She will arrive in Madrid. She just wants to get some local sim card for some data usage (check Google map, look for restaurant, etc.). Is there any inexpensive local sim card she can get? I would really appreciate it if you can recommend some local phone company and store location (either in Madrid airport or city center) where she can buy the sim card.

Thanks!

I purchased a Lebara SIM card at a Telecor shop at Puerta de Atocha train station back in 2015 but it doesn’t appear to be there anymore.

Having said this, there are Telecor shops, as well as other SIM card providers ( Vodafone, Orange, Movistar), in the city of Madrid. Just google “TELECOR tiendas Madrid” or “Vodafone Madrid locations”.

I’ve also read that one can buy SIM cards at the El Corte Inglés department stores.

She will need to show her passport when buying a SIM card in Spain.

Do make sure her phone is unlocked, otherwise a foreign SIM card will not work.

BTW, I do hope she has already booked her Alhambra tickets! The last time I checked April was already sold out.

Safe and happy travels!

Check Vodafone.

I picked up a 2 gig sim card for my iPad mini for 10 euros. Lasted over a month with no problems
Have them put it in for you and make sure its working before you leave the store.
