Where to Eat in Barcelona

Hello everyone, we are heading to Barcelona Nov. 19-22 prior to a cruise out of Barcelona. Does anyone have suggestions for simple not spicy food while we are there. I have some food issues and take medication so cannot eat any spicy foods. We have never eaten tapas so what should we try that would be simple to eat? We are going to stay at Hotel Granvia so any restaurant recommendations in this area would be appreciated. Hotel Granvia is on Gran Via and not far from Plaza Catalunya. We are planning to walk as much as we can (we are an older couple) or take taxis. Booked our tickets to Sagrada Familia so all set there. If time permits would like to take a free walking tour of Gothic Quarters. Otherwise just play it by ear and see what we feel like doing. We are planning to go to Montserrat and do a winery tour. Looking forward to that.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also check Yelp, Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor. I compare the three to see if they have any restaurants in common and go from there. I have found they are usually pretty spot on when they have one in common and I am looking for a good restaurant. Most tapas places have the food out on buffet type tables or bars so you can look at what they have and choose to stay or move on.

In general, Spanish cuisines tend to avoid spiciness flavours. However, I would stay away from Patas Bravas, Pimentos del Padron, la Bomba-style croquetas, and Chorizo Picante, as these are the relatively "spicy" tapas you can find around Barcelona.
