What to do after Barcelona

We have a conference in Barcelona in April. Having not been to Europe and travelling with a teen we are thinking of city hoping home to get a taste of some European cities Paris/Rome and we are a 24 hr flight home.

The coastline north of Barcelona looks to have some interesting sights. Advice on how long there and where to stay and look around ? Any itinerary’ ideas welcome. TIA

How much time do you have and what do you want to see? The options might not be endless, but there are a lot of them. But a few days in Lyon and then a couple of days in Paris is not a bad option.

Rome and Paris are great, but why not stay in Spain and see Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Madrid, Segovia and Toledo?

Depending on the time you have, the Basque country—Bilbao, San Sebastion, Hondaribbia (plus the French Basque villages)—is awesome. If you have time to drive, Zaragoza, LaGuardia/Rioja and Vitoria-Gastiez are worth stops. Lots to see and savor.

Thank you everyone we have about 31/2 weeks but 24 hours either end to travel - 1 week conference. As we are travelling with an active teen looking at villages and landscapes will wear thin fast - so I thought we could do some coastal /village options in the coast between Barcelona and montepellet and then train up to Paris then onito Rome. Has it considered doing much more in Spain but will have a look at your suggestions. Many thanks
