We are travelling to Aix from Barcelona and have our lodging arranged (Airbnb) for May 24. We were hoping to go by train but aren't having much luck with the train sites. Any thoughts?

You can book your train tickets on Renfe.com.
The website seems to be down for maintenance at the moment but try again in a while.

Jazz+Travels has given you the fastest train. If you need or want to arrive earlier in the day, you can do so, but you'll spend more time on the train.
Although you can't buy the tickets here, I find the Deutsche Bahn website the easiest to use for looking up most European rail schedules.
