Weekend Adventure College Kid based in Barcelona

I'm spending July studying in Barcelona. What recommendations to you have for weekend getaways? No car, just public transportation. Hoping to find the "other" places to visit, that are not mentioned in every travel book. Leaving in the morning!! Pretty excited

Figueres (Dali Theatre and Museum)
Cadaques (white houses and bougainvillea; another Dali site outside town)
Girona (probably good for more than one full day; there are cheap local trains in addition to AVEs)
Sitges (beach town with at least one good museum)
Tarragona (Roman sites)
Montserrat
There are plenty of other beachy towns, but I don't know anything about them.

Across the border in France, you have Collioure, a picturesque coastal town, but quite touristy.

It can be pretty hot in Barcelona in mid-summer. The beach towns may be more attractive for that reason. Montserrat would also be cooler. Tarragona is likely to be noticeably hotter than Barcelona.
