Hello,
Could anyone who has been in Sevilla in the months of September or October let me know what temperatures you experienced? I see a wide variety in different guidebooks/weather websites, with our own Rick Steves showing an AVERAGE high of 91 in September and 79 in October. Whereas some websites show historical temps from last year at least 10-15 degrees cooler!
If it's really as warm as Rick Steves states in his guidebook we won't travel until later in October....
Thanks!
It varies from year to year. Back in October 2011 there were evenings when we needed a jacket in Ronda. In 2014 it was in the mid to upper 90s most days in eastern Andalucía in late September.
In 2017 we visited Seville in late September/early October. We were there for 4 nights, and I do remember flying home on October 3. The temps in Seville during our stay were low to mid 90's. Seville was the hottest place we had visited on this trip, which included Madrid, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga as well. I wore capris every place we traveled, except in Seville I did wear shorts because it was just too hot for capris for me.

You have to be careful with average monthly temperatures. Not only do they hide extremes, but they are sometimes based on time periods that exclude a lot of recent years--a time when weather has continued to get wackier. For example, the averages in the handy-dandy climate chart in the Wikipedia entry for Seville are for a period ending in 2010.
Thank you everyone for the responses so far! It seems similar to southern California, where the Indian summer often lasts well into October.
We are hoping not to run into extreme variances in temperature since we'll be starting and stopping our trip in Madrid. Also, I've read that many outdoor events (e.g., free concerts in the plaza) end in September.
We were in Sevilla last October (22-25) and the weather was gorgeous. High around 80 and low mid 50s.
We started a 5-day bike ride the following day from Carmona to Granada and it rained the last two days.
This site gives the average & range of weather (temperature, precipitation, humidity , wind, etc.) over the past 36 years. I'd add a couple of degrees to the temperatures to compensate for climate change.
