Weather in Madrid Spain in mid-August

I may go to Madrid, Spain the middle week of August. I am wondering if the weather will make it miserable to go and walk around during the day. With the Texas summers, I do not like to get outdoors much in August. It's usually in the mid 90's to 100's here.
I am looking at this particular week to coordinate travel plans with someone else.

Also, I would add on a few days in Paris. Same question about the hot weather.

It is hot in Paris (tourists crowds) and even hotter in Madrid in summer. They take the siestas to get away from that.
You can look up the weather averages anywhere online for any city.

Madrid is at elevation in the centre of Spain.
August sees high daytime temps but with very low humidity. The night times are quite pleasant though in comparison with coastal parts.

Check climate averages on timeanddate.com. As someone pointed out, Madrid is at altitude but hot is hot. 89F in August average high. On the one hand, summer humidity is lower that you would be used to in Texas. On the other hand, you probably spend most of your time in August in air conditioning, not out and about. I would get a hotel with air conditioning, for sure. Standards in Europe about how cool interiors are in hot weather, are also a lot warmer than what you might find in the U.S. That's based upon my experience in Las Vegas, Arizona, and Texas during warm months, your experience might be different. Europeans seem to better tolerate interior spaces that to Americans would seem warm and stuffy.
