Want to buy a Spanish area rug

We are planning a trip to Spain mid Feb to end of March - fling to Barcelona, going to San Sebastian, Madrid, Cordoba, Benalmadena, and Seville with lots of day trips form Benalmadena and Seville

Really want o bring back a Spanish area rug as a memento of our trip

Any ideas of where is a good selection at a reasonable price if that is possible

thanks

They make a lot of carpets in Morocco--or at least that was the case when I visited the country in the early 1990s. I believe I saw both traditional "oriental" style rugs and kilims. I'm not suggesting that you travel all the way to Morocco just to buy a carpet, but you may find Moroccan rugs available in Spain. Don't know whether that would be a local-enough souvenir, though.

Too bad you are not traveling to Turkey. With tourism off drastically, there will be great buys in heirloom rugs. Turkish owned Atlanta antique stores deliver them to your house in the Southeast.

... no rug manufacturing in Catalonia, sorry. Anything you'll find in Barcelona or any other Catalan city/town will be imported from elsewhere, namely Morocco, Turkey, Iran, etc.
