Funny this should pop up, as yesterday I was at an event and talking to an acquaintance about her imminent trip to Paris.
She said she was scammed by a tour company who did the same thing: sent confirmation but no tickets, then said they had to rebook on a date not convenient for her, as the tour was full.
It was for a one day tour for something.
Now they can’t get their money back after umpteen phone calls, hangups on live calls etc.
I’m sure this was the name of the company.
She will hopefully claim it back on her credit card .

OP: I hope you will also recover your money.

You know what's weird...I am on the official website for the Orsay museum a couple of times a month. The other day I went on looking for something, started typing the web address in on my laptop, hit return and went to the website that came up. I looked at it and thought something was wrong...then when I looked at the ticket price it was something ridiculous like 45E. I realized in the upper left corner by the actual Orsay logo was in small text.."by Walker tours". I was astounded as I'd never been to that website on this laptop but it was selected for me. Fortunately I'd read the other thread on Walker Tours AND was familiar with the official website and prices.

Very easy to get caught on this even when you are not actually doing a search.

@Pam this is what happened to me with the Palacio Real de Madrid and My Top Tours. I have disputed the charges with my credit card company because they indicate the tickets are refundable up to 1 day before the activity, but I have written to them to request a refund and have not heard back.

@tmalave - I’m so sorry this happened. I hope you can get a refund. Very exasperating!

I just bought tickets to Sagrada Familia on this site a few days ago and wondered why I hadn't gotten them! I had no idea I wasn't on the official site! :(

Just to chime in... I bought two audio tours for the Sevilla Real Alcazar. The entry tickets worked. However, the audio tour required a separate app to be downloaded on our phones. When we tried to do this, the app (artymax, which itself has awful reviews) could not be used because it was made for an older version of Android. When I messaged them about this, they ghosted me. However, when I requested a refund (minus the entry ticket cost), they got back to me quite quickly saying 'no refunds'. I was in too much of a hurry trying to get all these various tickets ahead of time! Didn't do my homework. Yep - it's a scam.

Suggest that if you used a credit card, then you should contest the charge with your credit card company.

This may be what happened to us in February for the Prado. I bought overpriced tickets and a fake audio tour that according to the Prado staff doesn't even download inside parts of the Prado. Staff said they see a lot of people every day who are tricked. They were so kind that they gave us museum audio guides. When we returned for a second day of visiting, we bought real Prado senior tickets at 1/3 the cost.
I think we're pretty experienced travelers, and I'm pretty experienced on this website. But now I inspect sites and URLs closely because these sites are tricky. "Be careful out there."
