Same company, different brand names. Vueling is the low cost arm of Iberia.

Often you will find one is codesharing on the other so a choice may be illusory.
These days Vueling and Iberia are both subsidiaries of IAG, rather than the former being largely owned by the latter. (To be really accurate there is a very small minority stake in Vueling not owned by IAG).

We just flew Iberia Madrid to Lisbon Monday and we were like sardines in a can! Made UA coach seem like economy plus! Flew Vueling last year and had much more leg room-this coming Sunday we will be on Vueling from Santiago to Barcelona so will let you know.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. Flew Vueling from Santiago to BCN and it was as tight as the Iberia flight we took to Lisbon. Let cost be your guide.
